Vietnam Ministry

Dear Friends of Going Global Inc.,

We trust this newsletter finds you well and filled with hope as you read about the incredible work happening in Vietnam—a place very close to our hearts. Today, we want to introduce you to two extraordinary individuals who have been pivotal in our mission – Chad and Hang Chism. Their hearts for serving others have truly made a profound impact on the lives of many in Southeast Asia.

Meet Chad and Hang Chism

Chad Chism has been a cornerstone of Going Global Inc. from its inception. We are grateful to have him serve as Regional Director for S.E. Asia and as a Board Director. His leadership and passion for missions have played a crucial role in shaping our organization's work in Southeast Asia. Chad has a gifting for cross cultural ministry.

Hang Chism, originally from Vietnam, moved to the USA after her marriage to Chad. Her deep connection to her homeland gives her a passion for making a difference. Hang's unique perspective and cultural insights have enriched our efforts in Vietnam.

Recently, we had the privilege of sitting down with Chad and Hang to hear their hearts for missions and the incredible work taking place in Vietnam. We are thrilled to share some of their insights and updates with you.

Ministering in Challenging Environments

In Vietnam, we primarily focus on remote and mountainous areas where being a Christian can be incredibly challenging. Children often face adversity at school from teachers and peers, clean water is a luxury, and gathering for worship can result in harsh treatment from villagers.

Currently, we are reaching out to 800 children in these areas, with 600 in the northern region and 200 in the central region. Through our efforts, these children receive not only food and clean water but also the life-transforming message of Jesus Christ through Bible Camps.

Addressing the Clean Water Crisis

Access to clean water remains a significant issue in Vietnam. Through collaborative efforts with our partners, we have contributed to the construction of clean water wells, including one recently completed high in the mountains. By meeting this fundamental need, we are witnessing a tremendous opening of hearts in these villages to the message of Christ. We're delighted to share that a church partner in the US raised funds to build another well in Vietnam during their summer kids' camp. This generous act will undoubtedly bless many lives.

Rebuilding and Growth

Going Global Inc. also had the privilege of helping rebuild a church in the central region of Vietnam, led by Pastor Chot. The growth of this church has been nothing short of miraculous, with attendance soaring from 50 to 200 people. The congregation's expansion has been so remarkable that they are now in the process of building a second location to accommodate their growing community.

Meet Tung - A Young Leader Making a Difference

Tung, a dedicated young leader in his 30s, has been serving in ministry for seven years. His primary focus is on children, leading Bible schools, camps, and outreaches across Vietnam.

We're pleased to share a glimpse of his recent outreach in a remote village.

Your Support Matters

As we operate from the United States, our hearts remain firmly planted in Vietnam. We invite you to join us in prayer for the people of Vietnam, especially those in the remote highlands who are desperate for love, care, and the hope of Jesus Christ. Your continued support and prayers are deeply appreciated. We are grateful for each one of you who makes it possible for us to bring hope and transformation to the lives of those we serve.

Thank you for being part of the Going Global Inc. family, where together, we are making a lasting impact in Vietnam and beyond.

With heartfelt gratitude,

Chad and Hang Chism

From Humble Beginnings to Impactful Ministry

In a small village just outside of Ho Chi Min City, Vietnam, a remarkable story of faith, dedication, and transformation has been unfolding for the past 24 years. We’re honored to work alongside Ngan and Soa, a couple involved in local church activities, compassion initiatives, and children's ministry that have left a mark on Vietnam.

Soa serves as the Lead Pastor of a local church. Every Sunday about 100 people gather to worship where Christianity was once an unfamiliar concept. Ngan, his wife, leads the kid’s ministry at the church. Her role involves training, creating educational materials, planning, and providing financial support for Vacation Bible School across Vietnam, with a special focus on reaching out to minority groups.

One of the most remarkable aspects of their ministry is its far-reaching impact. This year alone, the church has reached out to 2,500 children across Vietnam. They achieved this by sending teams from their church.

In 2017, Ngan had a dream that’s become a reality—a Christian school. The school's mission is to nurture future leaders from a young age, starting their education at three years old until they graduate at the age of 18. Currently, there are 95 students enrolled.

The school is more than just a place of education; it's a ministry reaching out to non-Christians. Students from diverse backgrounds are attending the school, and through their experiences, many are giving their lives to Christ. One story is that of a police officer's daughter who initially came to the school to learn English. She began to notice the difference between the students at the Christian school and those at her regular school. She made the decision to become a Christian, even though her entire family practices Buddhism.

Her newfound faith initially brought challenges, including harsh treatment from her family. Tragically, her father passed away, but through this hardship, her mother found Christ. Today, mother and daughter serve the Lord together, a testament to the power of God.

Ngan dreams of expanding the impact of her school even further by welcoming missionaries from the USA to Vietnam. These individuals would not only assist in education but also share their faith and love, contributing to the spiritual growth of the school's community.

Food For Thought

“Look at the nations and watch— and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told.”

Habakkuk 1:5 NIV

In our monthly Going Global Inc. prayer meeting, we were encouraged by this scripture shared by Rhonda Schmit, along with this word, “Dream BIG, and plan as though I (God) am in charge.”
