Myanmar – History in the Making

Whether you have prayed, given, or invested into Going Global Inc. for more than a decade or have partnered with us for months, chances are you are familiar with the ministry in Myanmar. We have come alongside Peter and Rebecca since 1996 to help them accomplish the dreams God placed on their hearts for an orphanage, Bible school, education for children, and church.

Peter Thang Private School

On May 4, 2023, the Peter Thang Private School was dedicated. Because of your faithfulness, we were able to help them accomplish this vision. The school will be home to all the orphans in the Love Children’s Home network and many in the surrounding village. Friends, this is history in the making! Thousands of children will receive an academically-rigorous and Christian education. The future leaders of Myanmar will come from this school.

This is really a celebration of you—the person who has responded to help a child meet Jesus and experience life to the fullest! These children receive love, family, healthy food and water, clothing, shelter, and now a wonderful education. The motto that has been the hallmark of the ministry in Myanmar comes out of John 10:10, which says, “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” In a nation that has experienced so much loss, these children are receiving so much life. Here is a list of some of the amazing things that you have helped accomplish:

  • Life-giving churches

  • Medical facility

  • Disciple Bible College and Seminary

  • Peter Thang Private School

  • Network of 13 orphanages

  • Widow’s Home

  • Micro-businesses (Love Loom House, mushroom farming, soy milk production, taxi business, pre-school, and more)

  • Tennis court

  • Soccer field

  • Church planter’s ministry

  • Dormitories for boys and girls at different orphanages

  • Clean water wells

Together, we have been able to accomplish a lot in Myanmar. We look forward to the days ahead. God is up to something really big in Myanmar. Thank you for joining us in this work.

Mission Thought from Dennis

A friend once said that growing old brought changes and wasn’t for sissies! Another friend told us that when she became older and had to slowly and gently bend down to put on her shoes, she looked for anything else to do while she was down there. Both comments are now realities for me as I grow older, both personally and in ministry. Yet, these days are very exciting because they are filled with new ideas and change. Not surprising, it comes at us quickly in many directions. One change is how we teach and communicate. We now conduct zoom conferences with our ministry partners overseas. It’s amazing! Last month we conducted a zoom leadership conference in Kenya that lasted over two days. Almost 75 pastors and leaders of churches in Kenya gathered in one location for seven classes on Christian leadership. Two young Kenyan leaders taught along with us, and they were outstanding. A bishop in attendance was very surprised and grateful that it wasn’t all about the Americans teaching. We joined our friends halfway around the world for two days of ministry from our offices in Wisconsin. Thanks for your prayers and support for our work. You make many things like this happen.

Grateful,

Dennis and Robin

Love Loom House

One of the beautiful stories of innovation, creativity, and resourcefulness is how our partners in Myanmar are able to create jobs, generate income, and be a blessing to their country. Love Loom House is a great example of this. The loom house creates jobs, warm blankets for the orphans, and significant financial support when they ship blankets to the US via shipping containers.

Several times a year, the orphans will go out to IDP Camps (Internationally Displaced Persons) to provide warm blankets to refugees. It is a joy to see orphans, who have lost much, be transformed into those who not only have hope but share the hope they have received with others.

Disciple Bible College

This year, Disciple Bible College and Seminary will reopen after being shut down for three years since Covid. The school is on the grounds of Love Children’s Home in Myanmar, and is raising up ministry leaders and church planters. The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few. Thank you for your prayers and partnership as they send out harvest workers in Myanmar.

Food For Thought

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4

No trouble is wasted in God. When we face troubles, we can take heart knowing that hope is coming. As we receive, we are able to give that hope to others.

Prayer Requests

You can be an important part of our ministry by praying for us. Prayer is a weapon of warfare, and we covet your prayers. If you would like us to pray for you, e-mail your prayer requests to us. Please pray for the following:

We thank you, in advance, for praying for the following:

Ministry Goal

“And their eyes were opened and they recognized Him.” Luke 24:31

We founded Going Global Inc. in 2007 with this ministry goal. It is still our heart today. Thank you for praying and partnering with us. Together, we can do a lot!
